LSM800MB Automatic Controller For Generator Load Maintenance

The LSM800MB load bank controller is a monitoring processor which monitors the plant or building load on generators. To maintain the generator at a desired load set by the controller, loads from the load bank are automatically applied as the building or plant load varies. Loads are applied in discreet values to prevent transient conditions on the generator.

Options of system monitoring inputs are available typically, 0-5 amps (CT), 0-5V DC or 4-20mA.

External Command

The LSM800MB controller is also available with an input command feature where the load steps within the load bank can be applied using a 0-5 Volts DC analogue signal. The controller’s monitoring of the load bank’s safety interlocks and fan cooling is still maintained and managed by the controller.

Digital Communication- RS485 Modbus™ RTU

The LSM800MB features an RS485 communication port for direct connection to SCADA systems using the Modbus protocol. Remote monitoring enables the user to record the systems parameters. The Modbus protocol establishes the format for the master’s query by placing it into the device address. The slave’s response is also constructed using the Modbus protocol, containing the fields confirming the action taken, data to be returned and an error-checking field.

Programmable Setting

Remote access via Modbus to the controller’s setting is available typically:-
  • Start-Up delay
  • Load Step ramp time
  • Percentage load on generator 1
  • Percentage load on generator 2
  • Auto switch to generator 1
  • Apply load step
