SEPHCO MWA Series Load Banks

Multiple Voltage Workshop Testing

MWA Series load banks are dual voltage units designed to test a variety of sizes of generating sets. Typical applications include generator manufacturing, workshop type servicing and on site commissioning.

The units are portable or mobile, and are also suitable for Trailer mounting. Power output is maintained at either 240 volts 3 phase or 480 volts 3 phase, automatically adjusted on power-up.

MWA type load banks are completely weatherproof, vertically fan cooled incorporating the SEPHCO SDL stainless steel immersion proof resistors.

Safety protection includes the SEPHCO Triple Interlock load protection system which safeguards against fan failure, air flow restriction, high temperature and fan reversal.

Standard units are fitted with MC12P touch type LCD display control panel, featuring fan startup, kilowatt selection to 5 kW resolution, fan alarm LED, fan run-on LED and emergency stop. An additional switch is fitted for fan reversal.

MWA Series Load banks operate on either 240 volts or 480 volts 3 phase. The control automatically detects the genset voltage to provide maximum kilo wattage at either voltage. Multiple unit control is also available with load banks fitted with the LC12M type controller systems. These control systems will allow coupling of up to seven additional MWA Series load banks or RM Series inductive modules. The user can build up the load bank capacity as the need arises like 'building blocks'.

Coupling the LC12 system with the load bank, the user can expand the load capacity by adding more units as required to suit larger capacity generator sets. Adding a reactive type load bank (RM Series) to the system will also provide the user with power factor loading facility.

Each load bank is fitted with a control input/output plug socket and a ten foot long lead for looping to additional load banks or reactors. The LC12M control system will automatically auto-tune itself to the load load capacity as more units are coupled together.

Additional control features include touch type control, LCD display, menu pull-ups, screen prompting, kilowatt selection kVa and power factor control, manual loading, automated test profiles, metering display data acquisition and downloading to PC for printed reporting.

Test cells can be fitted with several LC12 type controllers for individual control of load banks when testing several gensets simultaneously. Additionally, by looping the load banks together with the loop data cables supplied, the load banks can then become one large unit. Remove the loop cables and the load banks revert back to their individual status.

The SEPHCO LC12D Data Logging Controller is available as an optional control system. Auxiliary power sockets are available as an optional fitting to the load bank.
